About Sensoma

No act of kindness is too small, the gift of kindness may start as a small ripple that over time can turn into a tidal wave affecting the lives of many

Therapeutic touch and subtle healing modalities can be a means of reaching people from all walks of life, including those who are often marginalised and disengaged. Many people are living increasingly busy lives, bombarded with environmental stimuli , too mentally distracted and physically exhausted to realise the effects of our individual life choices on ourselves, our wider communities and our most vulnerable. We live in a culture with a global addiction to the consumption of social media and a bias towards reasoning and cognition as a means of solving our problems. There is a pandemic of dissociation numbing and disconnection from our bodies , our authentic self and each other. Mental health issues are on the increase in developed countries and there continue to be serious health inequalities in disadvantaged groups and those living on the fringes of society. This disembodied state we find ourselves in is far removed from our natural state of being. we know it within our bodies , our own innate source of wisdom that something does not feel right. Through my own personal journey into healing I have realised that when we start to take personal responsibility for our own well-being, find a way of feeling at home and safe in our bodies and speak into our lives from a deeper, more connected and expanded aspect of self , things can change . We can find there is a way to live, even thrive in our lives and hopefully support others to do the same.

It is not the the length of life but the depth

I have a long background in nursing and have worked within NHS services promoting and offering holistic care in environments largely dominated by the medical model. My speciality has been working with Adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex physical and behavioural needs , mental health issues, as well as their carers. I have professional, therapeutic and personal experience with these client groups. I have family members with physical disabilities, mental health issues and long-term medical conditions. Prior to 2020 I collaborated alongside other therapists within MIND Mental Health Charity to promote accessible complementary therapy events for 8 years .I am a mother of three and have been a carer for a gentleman with learning disabilities for many years who lived with my family before passing away in 2020 . As a nurse, having witnessed the use of pharmacological interventions and physical restraint on people with learning disabilities and the negative impact they have, I wanted to explore a better way. This coupled with the experience of being with my mother who was chronically ill for 12 years propelled me onto a spiritual and healing journey . I have learnt along the way that healing means different things to different people and that we can find the answers we are looking for. Often they come when we are faced with challenges that cause us to ask deeper questions. For me my mothers illness prompted the question , how can I be in this world when faced with the reality that I have no control over whether my mother lives or dies. 12 years of being with her taught me. Having had a near death experience , her positivity, fearlessness and joyful spirit was contagious. My mum not only taught me that optimism can be beneficial for healing but also that healing is not always about eradicating physical symptoms. She taught me that all life’s experiences can be opportunities for growth and a more enriched experience can be had when we see life from this perspective. My mum was my best friend and greatest teacher. Her life taught me that the body has an amazing capacity to heal and the human spirit can not only endure but be enriched by our experiences.

The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well

In recent years I have further developed my interest in healing and trained in a variety of modalities from a range of therapeutic systems including psycho-spiritual and somatic approaches . My biggest passion is incorporating these modalities with the therapeutic use of touch. I believe that when touch is used with the intention to heal, connect and communicate positive regard to the receiver, powerful changes can occur on the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical planes. When theses changes occur within individuals, there is a natural state of expansion and increase in energy

Nobody can heal you, you can be met where your are on your journey for a time while you discover what it is to inhabit your body in a way that feels right for you

I work independently from home offering a variety of healing modalities to support people on their journey towards healing and wholeness. This journey is individual to each person. My job is to meet you where you are on yours . To listen and keep listening deeply . My clients include a range of people from all walks of life. Some people simply come for the physical benefits of massage or reflexology and opt for stand alone treatments , others come to experience a sense of calm and peace that may be lacking in their lives, opting for combined interventions to rewire recalibrate and relax the nervous system. Then there are those searching for direction, or a deeper connection to themselves and opt for a psycho-spiritual approach to healing and wholeness. I offer myself and my space as a safe container for the journey .

I am currently operating in South East London and Kent
